Question Neo 2.2 Booting Problems - Please Read!

Hi,

I just installed a Neo 2.2 PRO Chip into my v1 USA PS2 with Gameshark 1.0.

However, when I put a PSX backup game in, sometimes it brings me to the browser screen.

Other times, it skips past that and brings me to the red screen which says "Please insert a PS2 format disc".

What is wrong with it? I'm pretty sure it's not the gameshark version because psx cd-r backups don't require the gameshark.

Also, I tried booting PS2 backups using all the different swap methods but they did not work either (the PS2 just hangs at the gameshark "Loading...Please Wait" screen.

Can anybody please help?

Thanks,
CoBRa

I believe you are not activating the chip properly on startup.

For PSX disks, you dont need to use the GS - you already know that. However keep your finger depressed on the power button until the blue eject light flashes blue.

When booting up the GS, double tap the power button to turn the PS2 on. Try it a few times if it doesn't work.

If it doesn't work, try the same as booting PSX disks - leave the power button depressed till the blue light flashes on.

It is all a timing thing. As it stands at the moment, your modchip probably isn't being activated.
