Post Problem With my Ps2

Hey everybody. I recently bought a PS2 modchip from Modchip.com It is called PS2 Modchip. I got the chip but it didnt have instructions for ps2 versoin SPCh30001- version 4 which i have. I looked on their site and found a diagram of where i have to solder the wres too. I did this all correctly. I put it back together but the modchip didnt work. my games were burned correctly and work. I was just wondering if I have to do anything else to get it to work? maybe do something to the laser? Thanks for your help

How do you know the games were burned correctly? You tried them on another chipped PS2?

But if he didn't test them, how do you know they are working?

You don't describe the not working symptoms either. Clues may lie there. What boot method?

Have you checked that no solder points are accidentally bridged?

I followed the directions that came with my modchip. I Turn the system on Putin Gameshark, Turn the system off, Turn it on so the red light is on, Push the reset button for 3-5 seconds. Then I Select the game on the Gameshark and put it in. Its supposed to work then but it doesnt.

I did all the soldering correctly. I do this kind of thing for a living and I Checked it like 3 times. They are all put in correctly.

You wouldn't have to select the game in GS2 unless you needed the codes.

Do try it without codes and it should work if ewverything else is OK.

Remember also that EA games need a special boot method. The modchip.com instructions are reproduced below and they make no mention of selecting the game on the GS2.

PS2 ModChip Usage:

PS2 Originals and PSX Originals:
Turn on normal (press Reset less than 0.5 seconds)

PS2 Backups:
Method 1: (for all Games including patched EA Backups)
1. Insert GameShark 2 / ActionReplay 2 CD1
2. Power Off the PS2 for 5 seconds
3. When you turn on your PS2 press Reset for 2-4 seconds (but not longer than 5 seconds) to activate the Chip - The PS2 will boot to the GS2 /AR2 Main Menu
4. Select START GAME
5. Select WITHOUT CODES
6. Press Eject when prompted
7. Swap GS2 / AR2 CD with your PS2 Backup
8. Press Eject to close Tray
9. Press X AS SOON as Tray closes
10. The game will load now

Method 2: (for all Games including EA Games)
1. Insert GameShark 2 / ActionReplay 2 CD1
2. Power Off the PS2 for 5 seconds
3. When you turn on your PS2 keep pressing Reset - The PS2 will boot to the GS2 / AR2 Main Menu
4. Select START GAME (Still pressing Reset)
5. Select WITHOUT CODES (Still pressing Reset)
6. Let go of the Reset Button and the Tray will open
7. You have 5 seconds to swap the GS2 / AR2 CD with your Backup
8. The Tray closes automatically after 5 seconds.
9. Press X as soon as the Tray closes (For GS2 / AR2 1.4 and above you need to press O + R1 until "Loading" appears instead of X)
10. The game will load now

PSX Backups:
1. When you turn on your PS2 press Reset for 2-4 seconds (but not longer than 5 seconds) to activate the Chip
2. Insert PSX Backup
3. Your PSX Backup will boot.
