Pioneer DVR A04 or DVR 104?

I am looking at both, what are the differences and which is better?

they r same drive
1 is retail box (leads blank media etc.)
other is bare drive(no leads blank media

As far as I know they are both the same except the A104 ships without software.

I don't know what the price difference is but Prassi(Veritas) PrimoDVD is excellent for backing up PS2 games. I have used it without any failures.

I assume you realise the PS2 needs a mod-chip. The Messiah is the best out there, no swap tricks. I would also consider getting a proffessional installer to fit the mod-chip. Charlie_PS2 on these forums is the best man to contact.
