I wouldn't worry too much about the IDE bus - most of the burner research these days is aimed at IDE users.

As long as your system is fairly recent and hence up to the job of burning at a fast speed and you don't intend to do too much whilst burning, IDE is fine. On the other hand if you absolutley must use your computer to process other CPU-intensive tasks whilst burning then SCSI drives give the least hassle in this respect, although IDE buffer-underruns are less frequent these days with 'burn-proof' technology.

I'd be more concerned with the writer itself, as some are better at copying protected titles than others. This applies to both SCSI and IDE drives.
