Unhappy Problems with Boot CD. Need Help

I play my games on a VGA monitor, but many of my backups require a boot disk. I've tried downloading the 1.2 version of the Boot disk from many different locations, but it's always exactly the same as the 1.1 version and does not work with VGA. I've also downloaded the patch for 1.1, but it say's it can't open the file, and I've even downloaded some that say they are a nero or DJ image that's already patched and ready to burn... but still nothing. I can't get my non-boot games to work on a VGA monitor.
Yes, I've tried leaving the VGA cable unplugged until the game is already loaded, but that doesn't work either.
Any help anyone can give would be greatly appreciated. I'm tired of wasting disks on Boot images that don't work right.

Some games are just not compatible with VGA.
Try to edit their IP.BIN with IpBin4Win and check if "VGA BOX SUPPORTED" is checked. If it's noit, try to check it and reburn your game.

If it still doesn't work, you should follow dirty420boy's advice...

I'm currently in the process of making most of my backups self-boot. For these, there's no problem. I just make my own ip.bin and it works fine. However, there are some games that I can't make self-boot because there's not enough free room on the cd. Ex: Ecco. This game takes up the entire CD. With only 4 megs free, there's not enough room to make it self-boot. If anyone knows a way around this, I'd love to know about it.
Also, I'm not able to change the ip.bin for Skies of Arcadia because it puts out read errors and I can't open any of the files. If anyone knows how to fix this, I'd love to hear aobut it also.
What I need is a boot disk that's VGA compatible for the non-self boot games. I know they are out there, I just can't find any that work.
By the way, yes, I do take my DC into the living room on a TV to play these games for now. But why unhook my DC and carry it into another room where I have to hook it up again when I shouldn't have to?
I want a VGA compatible boot disk. Know of one?

There are many ways to make your games fit on a CD : delete some files (for example, Japanese voices on Sonic), or downsample some videos (SFD), or sounds (wav or adx), or cut some musics... By the way, Bin2Boot takes less place than Echelon's method.
You can find may tutorial on how to downsample files on the net.

If I were you (which i am not), I'd save the plastic & braincells that it takes to burn Ecco and put them toward something that will yeild more output: such as a small frisbee with a hole in the middle. The game is worth seeing, it being the contunuation of a franchise, and one of the first gen DC games, but if you get as frustrated as I did while playing that game, you'll probably go grab yourself the closest can of "albacore" you can get your hands on and eat it wrathfully.

A-Ha this is the very reason i have signed up to these here forums(1st Post )
I too want to be able to play the boot cd on my monitor - i would play on my tv but i have too much stuff going through it as it is(dvd player, hi-fi, Vcr, Ps2).
a massive crows nest of cables are bhind the tv :P - i dont wanna add to the probelm, which is why i paid for the vga-box to play my dc on my monitor.
I have tried patching 1.1 - tried the so-called vga compliant 1.2 but with no joy - do they work or is it just a myth ???
Any help would be cool!!!!!

Cheers in advance........ Big R.
