No Modchip

I've been downloading p2 games from the realease groups out there. My question is, I dont have a mod chip in my ps2 and it is a version 2, do i need to apply patches to the games or are they patched already? I'm going to use game shark to swap with.



p.s. is there a messiah chip that will work in a version 2?

Messiah for PS2 v2 will be available in a week or so. Without a modchip you won't be able to play backups unless you use that awful knife trick that can eventually knacker your PS2.
