Buffer underrun

Could someone please help me i have a sony CRX-160E CD-R/RW Drive and i keep getting the error bufferunderun even when i use the 2X speed is there any program or computer settings i need to change to fix this problem

close all prog (screen savers anti-virus etc try not to do anything on your pc as it is burning

Try using different IDE ports between your harddisk, your CD-ROM and your recorder.

Have you enabled the DMA option in your Device Manager??? If not select this option and re-boot your computer. This will speed up data flow. The under-run problem is based on your burners buffer running out of data which in turn the laser has to stop writing and most burners will cause an error if this happens. Hope the DMA option helps.
