GTA 3 [U.S. Version] Clearing up the BS
I have not had a chance to examine other versions, so I don't know about them, but here's the deal with GTA 3 "U.S. Version" ...
1. The 2 CD Disc RETAIL version has SD2 (v2.51.021). 2. It has NO serial number, much less imbedded. 3. It will 1:1 fine with normal SD2 settings using CloneCD and the usual array of suspect burners. 4. UnSafeShit 2.51 will NOT crack it, it will exit with an error. BONUS: For those that want/need it, here's a list of cheats and what they actually do: Type in the following codes while playing for the desired effect: Code Result ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- GUNSGUNSGUNS = All Weapons IFIWEREARICHMAN = More Money GESUNDHEIT = Full Health MOREPOLICEPLEASE = Higher Wanted Level NOPOLICEPLEASE = Lower Wanted Level GIVEUSATANK = Get the Tank BANGBANGBANG = Destroy All Cars ILIKEDRESSINGUP = Change Outfit ITSALLGOINGMAAAD = Crazy People NOBODYLIKESME = All People Hate You WEAPONSFORALL = People Fight Each Other TIMEFLIESWHENYOU = Speed Up Time BOOOOORING = Faster Gameplay TURTOISE = 100 Armor SKINCANCERFORME = Clear Weather ILIKESCOTLAND = Cloudy Weather ILOVESCOTLAND = Rainy Weather PEASOUP = Foggy Weather ANICESETOFWHEELS = Invisible Cars CHITTYCITTYBB = Flying Car CORNERSLIKEMAD = Improved Car Handling NASTYLIMBSCHEAT = Gore Mode MADWEATHER = Unknown Effect ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Start the game with the parameter: +set_sv_cheats 1 Now type in as "player name" one of the following: Salvatone = Drive on all islands extermination = All weapons citymean = Unlimited money flying = Flying cars fly = Flying people bund = Streets crowded with police and tanks allinformation = Get all game secrets

The name thing Im not so sure on, i just use the cheats in game (there basically the same cept for area select). Radio station is easy, just put any mp3 you want to hear in the mp3 folder of GTA's directory. Hit "R" in game to change stations, all your mp3's will play on a "station" named MP3 Player. It will play and loop them as you change cars etc. Have fun, by the way, nothing beats running from cops to tha beat of Dead Girl Superstar.

tried your copying suggestion with clone cd.
3.3.4.1.
It will not read the "play" disk at all. Will it work if you copy to hdd first and then to cd? What does "normal SD2 settings" mean? I am copying max read speed and 2x write speed. But it's not picking up the cd in read mode. |

@angrysquirrel
If, you copy the CD contents to the hdd, you won't have a 1:1 image of the original. Therefore, it won't pass the SD2 checks, etc. If, what you want is a 1:1 backup, that is NOT an option. Assuming your hardware (the burner) and the software you're using are capable of doing a 1:1 of SD2 (v2.51.021), then you should not have any problems doing so, when using the appropriate settings that work best for your particular hardware/software combo (among others using FES (fast error skip) as already pointed out by packer). You might want to read a bit slower (perhaps x4?) and also change the retries to 3 and the correction to hardware from software, depending on your hardware. Also, as packer already suggested, try Clony as a guideline and experiment if need be, if you have 1:1 cloned SD2 (v2.51.021) in the past with your current setup then it's not any different, whatever worked before will work now just the same. If, you're still having problems after this or have any other questions about the 1:1 cloning process, I suggest you hit the search button and do a bit of reading for the answers, there's a HUGE amount of info on the topic on this site. Good luck.

@Scream
You can do that, if you have the US-Version. In the Europe Version you can't enter Player-Names! (I read this in an other Forum and think, that's right )I'm looking for a Cheat, that I can drive on all Islands!!!!!!!!! Itzak! |
