Is Downgrade of Plextor PX-W1210TA possible!

The followin information is from:

####://www.snumpy.com/~gamecopy/games/gcw_cd-backup.shtml

"Plextor PX-W1210TA [12x10x32x] - IDE
Use firmware 1.00, 1.01, 1.02 or 1.04 - Newer firmware will not work, downgrade if possible!"

I have only been able to go back to 1.05 anything older gives an error message and will not continue. Is there a way around this, does any one know why it wont proceed, will it work with this version?

nope, you can not downgrade it. You have one of the newer firmwares (1.05 or greater) and once it is in there, it will not let you downgrade below 1.05

I have the Plextor PX-W1210A and I have tried. I am also being told that downgrading the firmware is NOT the solution to the problem of copying Safedisc 2--it is caused by the Sanyo chips used in the Plextor.

At last, there is a person that knows Plextor cannot do SD2 with any firmware!

Does it means that there isn't any plextor CDRW that can copy Safedisc2 whatever firmware version it has?
And what about any other protections? Because CDRWIN says that I can't write in RAW mode (I have firmware 1.07).

Your burner is great! It can handle ANYTHING EXCEPT for SD2. It reads it hell fast however! If you want to backup a SD2 protected game, use unsafedisc 2_05_30 in combination with Nero. Send me a mail, if you need any help on using the program!

Well i own a plextor 12/10/32a with 1.08
firmware and i could do without any
problems a 1:1 copy of no one lives for ever,
that uses safedisk 2 protection, and
i can play this game on any cd-reader.

You must have copied an already copied CD which was copied using a Philips based recorder.

No, i have made a 1:1
copy using my plextor 12/10/32a from the originall game, and i have used firmware version 1.08 (i can not downgrade below 1.05).
I own the original game and i just made a copy to test my burner, and i did not have any problems copying it, and the
copy works great
in all cd readers, not only in my burner.
I have only followed clonycd instructions and i used clonecd to
make the copy of both disks.
