NEED ADVICE ON SONY CRX-140E (8x4x32) IDE

HEY all please help newbie who wants to backup playstation games and all my other crap.

I currently have a Creative 2224 (2x2x24) IDE and the dude sold it to me said "Itll do psx games", what a wanker! It is crap.

I have generated enough funds to purchase a new burner and would like to know if the SONY CRX 140E (8x4x32) IDE is good.

Please help. I can get it for $239 AUD.

Thanks chief for your advice.

The price is in Australian Dollars, it probably isnt the best price coz Australian computer shops are a damn rip off.

Ta again for the info.
