Angry DVD-R booting

I need some help booting my dvd-r backups. I have a dvd+r drive and learned that the ps2 will not read these. Then I spent a bunch more $$$ and got the pioneer a04. I just used nero to burn GTA3. I have also bought Devil May Cry for the TOC. I am using a neo 2.2pro chip. I just can't get the damn thing to boot. Can someone please help??????
