I'm looking for an EXTERNAL dvd writer to burn my home digital videos. What type should I get, dvd-r/rw or dvd+r/rw?
I use a ps2 as my dvd player. What are the advantages and disadvantages of each? If I go with dvd-r/rw, what drive do you recommend? What about the Revo Cyclone DVD external firewire drive? If I go with dvd+r/+rw, what about the HP 200e dvd writer? Thanks in advance, doctorB. ps Sorry about so many questions in one post! |

none of them will work in your ps2 without a mod chip. after that, dvd-r will work.

How shitty! I knew that the mod-chip was needed to play backup ps2 games, but I didn't know that it was needed to play home video dvds too!
Does this mean I have to buy a regular DVD player? Are you sure you know what you're saying? According to this website, you're wrong. http://www.dvdplusrw.org/resources/c..._dvdvideo.html Anyway, my friend is getting a dvd+r/+rw drive this week and I'll test it out then. I'll let you know if it works. Thanks for the response, doctorB. |

pretty sure. of course, since this is the wrong forum, hard to say. but to play any kind of non-pressed disc, im pretty sure you have to have a mod. www.psxcopyworld.co.uk is the authority on this kind of thing, i suggest you read there
