so who really knows then?

seems like a lot of differing opinions on what will or won't copy sd2
plextor 1.05 firmware upwards, no good now!no downgrade will work
so what about the acer? is there a problem with latest firmwares? or is there any probs with this drive too?
so who really knows the crack then?what will definately work or is that open to debate?
Brad.

Hi all, I know that it may mean buying a new writer, but the Philips PCRW804K writer will copy safedisk 2 games no problem, and they WILL work on any cd drive as well. I was one of the disgruntled peeps that bought a Plex 32x12x10a writer with UN-downgradable firware below 1.05, so I bought this one for £89.00. I used clone cd with the following settings.

For reading...
Create a CD-Image using CloneCD with these settings:
Set Read Speed to 1x (176 kByte/s)
Select Read SubChannel Data from Data Tracks
Select Read SubChannel Data from Audio Tracks
Select Fast Error Skip
Set Read Retry to at least 5
Set Error correction to None
UnSelect Don't report bad sectors
UnSelect Intelligent Bad Sector Scanner

For Writing...
Set Write Speed to any desired speed
Select RAW DAO
Select Don't Repair SubChannel Data
UnSelect Simulate Writing (if available)
Select Burn Proof/Just Link (if available)
unSelect Perform Laser Power Calibration
unSelect Wait until Buffers are full
Select Always close last Session
Play the game!

I know that a lot of you out there are aware that the Phillips writers or writers using philips guts can do Safedisk 2, but I thought I would post this to let u know that it aint a gamble buying this writer. It really will do it using the above settings!

Later!

Safedisk 2 does not use the subchannel so u do not need to select them, the settings that u need are

READ
Fast error Skip selected

Write
Always close last session selected

THAT IS ALL U NEED TO MAKE A 1:1 COPY.
