Problems Burning DC Backups

Hi there,

I like to burn with nero, because its very simple. With discjuggler i
always have problems.

I just have Discjuggler 3.5 on my XP system, and always if i open a cdi file the system hangs.

The format and the amount of data is on the display and then the prog shuts down and wants to send the error to MS

Mabe it depends on that the V 3.5 wants to open a CDJ
and not a CDI file.

What versions of diskjuggler do i need to correct burn
the most cdi files?

How can I burn these CDI files?

On my system Nero works very fine, so i tried to use the latest
cdi2nero beta8.

The convert runs well.

Works very fine, i changed my Zombie Rev. from cdi to nrg burned it with nero 5.x and it runs fine.

But i also did Crazy Taxi 2 on the same way, but
the game is not working.

The same with Viruta Cop2, Recording without error, but if i put the CD in my dreamcast it wont start.

Please gimme some help.

Thanx a lot

If I remember well, Virtua Cop 2 isn't selfboot. I guess you used Utopia boot CD before trying to run your game. If not, you have to run the boot CD and then swap with your game.

I burn with DiscJuggler 3.50.818 and I never had any problem. I find it much easier than Nero for DC games, but it's just a matter of taste. It should work with the images you try to burn.

There's a patch for Virtua Cop 2 to make it selfboot. Check here :

Hi,

thanx a lot for your answer.

For Virtua Cop2 i tried the boot disk but it doesnt start.
I have boot disk V 1.2. Should this work or is there a newer
version that i need?

Doenst matter for me to use the bootdisk if it works.
But it should work.

I also will try the patch you told me, just downloaded it.

Did you ever try your DiskJugg with WindowsXP?
Well i have 3.5.816, do you know any probs with this version?

I will look on the padus site for some help.
I think my system is ok, because nero is running fine.

But i also think there could be sometimes a prob when
converting from cdi to nrg?

Is also heard some games need a trackmerge and to write
a dummy file. Can you tell me when this must be done.
Is there a list for the games when you must do this.

Thanx a lot

Boot disk v1.2 doesn't change a lot, I think. You don't really need it.

I never tried DJ under Windows XP. Your problem might come from that. Do you have the latest drivers ?

You need trackmerge only if your burner doesn't support short tracks. This method only merges the 1st 2 audio track to make one bigger.
Dummy file isn't needed. It might only speed up the loading of your game. I never use it since I don't find any difference.
