PS2 dvd backups

I have a NEO2.2 PRO mod chip V1 PS2, GSV1.3 and have burned a couple of dvd games onto dvd+r. I then tried every booting method for my mod and several others. Can anyone please tell me what I'm doing wrong. Can I not burn these 1 to 1?

One problem you have is that PS2 does not work with DVD+R media only DVD-R.

Sorry for my ignorance and thanks. Can't wait for the new drive to arrive and start ripping. Ohh ya, once I receive the pioneer a04, to backup up my games on dvd-r's can I just burn them 1 to 1?

FYI

@ Hightime2211

For a european ps2 with neo 2.2 the recommended setup to play dvdr backups is:
action replay 2 v1.95 and the use of a dvd game such as GTA3 that has a big TOC. You need the big toc that will then fool the ps2 into playing the backup. Seemingly AR 2 v1.95 works out to be the fastes for neo 2.2 . Only the messiah chip will allow you to do straight boots but will cost you quite a lot to get installe . In uk we are talking about 100 ish pounds = $ 150 roughly.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for the input. I guess the real problem was trying to use +r dvd rather then -r.

Re: PS2 dvd backups

Just something to add to the other replys, You will also have to upgrade the GS2 to 1.9 or better to boot dvd-r

the latest AR2 boot CD version will not boot DVDr

v2.01 and 2.02 WILL
v2.03 ...don't know
v2.10 WILL NOT (they have removed the dave mirrra bmx error)

so be careful what u buy

Version is written on the underside of the boot CD1
around the center in the BLue shiny ring!

Ya, but according to the neo2.2 pro mod, running a Version1 PS2, which I am, only a version 1.3 GS will work. I know that GS V2.11 will not even boot up completely with my version of PS2. However, according to the booting procedures for my mod chip it appears that I should be able to play dvd-r's nonetheless.
