Question Which 24-speed writer is the best?

Hello people,

I'm wondering what 24-speed writer is the best at the moment. Price is not an issue.

I tried to look for tests @ cdmediaworld but the tests @

http://www.cdmediaworld.com/hardware...ters.shtml#The Best of the Best!

are way NOT updated!
Could anyone please help this dutch guy who has had nothing but problems with cd-writers till now while using fine media like kodak gold, which aren't manufactured anymore(could anyone also tell me what the best cd media is at the moment?).

Very much thanx in advance,

Laurens

BAH

Dont get a stupid lite on......Go with the LG GCE8320b.Can do everything the lite on's can and is a higher quality burner. And its around 90 - 100$ Whats with the lite on hype anyway.....i see different burners everyday and the lite on's are just plain junky.Nowhere near the quality of LG.So take my advice and dont buy a lite on just because a bandwagon of ninnys tells u too.

um....they use the same chipset (i think). they are *probably* made by the same factory, only to have a different brand name smacked on them. they come with the same warranty. one is cheaper. *ponders*......also, lite on has been making higher quality burners than LG for a long time.....

i had an LG a few months ago....took it back. it pissed me off. got a philips, because it could handle all the safediscs out (at that time), and was a higher quality burner. the philips was the 4th burner i'd had in 4 weeks. sure, you may work in a shop. you install burners. you see a lot. great. *kudo*. what i do know, is that the chipsets are what matters here.....and it seems to be a rather logical assumption that the ones that can copy safedisc 2.51 probably use the same chipset, seeing as how much $$ and time goes into a chipset in the first place....but i have no clue. i dont work with burners every day. obviously, that makes all the difference in the world.....

*flame on*

theres no denying the 24x liteon can copy everything that the plextor 24x can but the plextor is by far a better drive . Plextor if you want the best , liteon if you short of cash .
