Did you update the ASPI layer? Which OS are you using?

Some versions of easy cd caretor will clash with other software, whcih could be giving you the errors.

My guess is: Easy Cd creator has installed it's own ASPI drivers, which need updating to the latest versions.

Get two programs from the Adaptec website: one will check which version of the aspi drivers you have, the other will update them.

Note: Updating aspi drivers is not generally possible unless you have adaptec software installed in the first place, but I have managed to find a program that bypasses any Adapect stuff yet still updates your drivers. Useful when un-install features don't always work and you're left with useless junk that won't play ball!

Hope this helps ya out.

Hi there again,

Is your writer and your software fully compatible with Win2000 Pro?

Do you have to use Win2000? There's less compatibility issues with Win98/98b/ME. Especially with things like games and Direct-x.

BOT is on a distinguished road
Win 2k does NOT come with ASPI.
You will have to install it.

if you have and 8x burner, i'm guessing it is an 8250i, which comes with easycd creator 3.5c and direct cd 2.5, neither of which is compatible with windows 2000. HP is offering the oem version of easycd creator 4.02 and directcd 3.01 for 24.95 + shipping and handling. You can reach them at 970-635-1500, and be sure and have your serial number for your writer.
