StarTrek:BC No CD patc:This is not a valid .ace file??????

I downloaded both the No CD patches for Star Trek Bridge Commander, but when I try and open them with WinAce it just says this is not a valid ace file???.

I am kinda new to all this,so bear with me..........!!!!!!!!

The file is in the form of an .ace file, and looks like the little windows icon when u double click on it.........but it just gets me the same message........."This is not a valid .ace file".

What do I do?????!!!!!!!!.
