Hi and thank you Charlie ive received my messiah few days ago...
now the problem is i've installed the 4 test wires: scex, reset, grnd, 3.3 v and i tested to see if my chip was ok..well i've tried different psx cds and cdr and i came up with the conclusion that my ps2 can read only pal games(original and cdrs) but not import(both orig and cdr)...what am i doing wrong? I dont know if this is strange but it plays the cdr psx pal games without the double reset thing.... My ps2 is a v5 PAL by the way thank you for the help..... chances are that you need to shorten the 3.3V/GND wires. also, it's possible that the SCEX wire only works for cdr copies, and the country protection of the psx games is defeated by another wire (i.e. to the BIOS).

Thank you Arakon,
the grnd and 3.3 v wires are already very short... i was reading the pdf charlie sent me with the device and in the troubleshooting area there is a point where he says that to test the functionality of the messiash only the 4 wires afore mentioned are necessary...and it say also that the 4 wires should play psx ALL region and CDR.....well maybe it's the SCEX, ill try to resolder this point and maybe shorten it a bit. I want to be sure that i am doing it right from the beginning instead of solder everything and end up with more problems.... |

I've done it, it works!!!
You were probably right Arakon, the SCEX is responsible only for cdr and not the region. I've soldered all the other wires and it works flawlessly. Thank you Arakon and Charlie again for the support. |
