Traxdata CDRW8432+ - Urgent help Please!

Hi.

I have just bought a Traxdata CDRW8432, so that I can burn PSX backups at 8x. However Iv'e noticed that when using CloneCD and my old PSX, games recorded at this speed won't load. At 4 speed they load-but badly. Also, 8x speed audio discs won't scan very well in my standard audio cd hifi player, ie you can't search very well whereas before you could using an old Philips 2x writer.

My old 2-speed recorded on the same discs (Memorex 12x) with no problems.

Does recording at different speeds effect the quality of the resulting disc no matter what recorder you have, ie do different speeds give different reflectivity?

Is my drive faulty?

Please - any help at all would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your time.

All the best.

Cheers, I appreciate your tips mate.

Will try what you said, and see how I get on. I can get the Traxdata Gold discs dirt cheap, and one of those "Poundland" shops we have here in the UK was selling Verbatim blanks for 50p each!

ps
I managed to backup some DC self-booters unsing the latest version of CloneCD. I burned them at 8x, having read them using RAW from my old Toshiba CD-ROM.

HAppy burning.
