Unhappy black and white problems

hi everyone, can you help me. i have had a meesiah chip in my ps2 and have bought lord of the rings on dvd video. when i try to play it it comes in black and white. i have a fully loaded scart cable, its got 20 pins. i ahve also treid to play wta tennis jap version and that to is in black and white.
please help

the either your rgb cable is not properly configured (not all pins wired inside), or your tv doesn't support or is not set to RGB. if it has 2 scart sockets, try the other one, usually only one of them is rgb capable. if not, try switching between tv modes to see if you find a RGB mode.

the black and white problem is related to whether or not your tv can support NTSC signal at 60HZ.

the PAL frequency is 50HZ so if your tv only supports the EU standard then all NTSC signals will display in black and white.

if your tv is older than 3 years then it probably doesnt support the correct signal.

RGB is independant from PAL/NTSC. PAL and NTSC are just color encoding standards, and RGB is unencoded color signals.
