Removed USB mod Ouestion

I removed the one wire that needs to be conected for the neokey to work just incase it interfered with the Origa chip I intended to install.

I found that a small componet has been removed from the board where the one wire terminates, Does any one know if this component is critical as I can't get my Origa to work properly

I would be glad of any advice
