I don't think you can back-up AR disks, it's something to do with the way they are pressed.

actually you can, I got a cdr copy of 2.01 right here (to use with my original dongle from my AR 1.92, mind you).
I think you have to leave out a dummy file from the cd and rebuild the iso manually.

I made a copy of my AR2 v2.02 with CloneCD, it took about 8 hours, but it worked fine.. perfect 1:1 copy of it.

I am using a Messiah chip to direct boot my CD-R copy of it, and works fine also.

Just need a CloneCD copy of 2.03 upgrade disk now..

Cheers.

Hi guys,

help me clear this up will you?

Is AR 2.03 a DVD based disc or CDROM based disc?

I've just ordered the upgrade disk from www.codejunkies.com and still waiting for it to arrive.

cd. there's nothing on there that'd warrant wasting a DVD, the entire AR2 image compresses to under 4 MB when rar'ed.

If you wouldn't mind mate, can I get a CloneCD created copy of it? That would greatly appreciated.

Cheers.

Hey mate,

that would be illegal ain't it?? we are suppose to be making backup of what we owned and not duplicating it for others.

Anyway I've tried to do a backup, and it won't read, it says that there's an error reading sector 25

considering that you have to have bought the AR2 original in order to use the upgrade disc at all, I think a cdr copy of the upgrade is quite alright. I don't see why I should pay datel another 15 bucks for some new cheat codes.

Red face

I agree totally with you Arakon, why should I pay for an upgrade disk.. It should be free via a software download or something..

Jackng: Please don't lecture me about the legal process.. if you chose to pay for the upgrade disk, then well done you!!! I wouldn't, and I'm sure many others wouldn't.... No harm in asking you for a copy of it, and you don't have to do that for any of us.

No disrespect intended here, just annoys me when someone lectures me about something being illegal or legal. that's all.

nuff said.

Cheers.

Talking

No offence taken.. lol. All's well, ends well.

If the CD has a blue bottom surface, then it's a CD, a silver bottom, a DVD-Rom... I believe the Upgrade disk is blue bottomed, which means a CD, not a DVD..

CloneCD get's errors eh? Might be your reader... what brand and model drive are you using?

I use my Pioneer DVD-Rom when using CloneCD.. but making an image of my AR2 v2.02 , I had to use my Sony CRX175E burner to read it... took about 8 hours, but read through all the errors..

Cheers.

Sorry ppl, my drives simply can't get pass sector 25.
Yeah its a blue bottom CD.

I tried using my plextor 12/10/32S , pioneer 24x CDROM, Acer 24/10/40 writer, all simply refuses to read past that point.
