Unhappy Eject question?

Hey fellaz...
It's been a while since I've messed w/ my ps2. I finally decided to put it back together after I realized my board's missing a connection point or two ... So, I put back my jumper wire for the usbmod and zipped it up. Now, when I turn it on, the powers good, the chip looks like it should when it's working, but the eject button won't work. At first it made a very light (low-sounding) clicking. I opened it AGAIN! and made sure the cables weren't crimped or anyting, and now it's still the same. It just will never eject the tray. Can some1 pleze help. I'm just about ready to throw the damn thing as far down the street as I can...
Thanx fellaZ

make sure the cables going to the reset/power button assembly are plugged in properly. especially on the ones with ribbon cable, it's possible that it's not seated perfectly anymore.
