hehe yea it has gone a little off track but its all ok.. just some useful information doesnt hurt

any way, i do have a mod chipin my plsx, and i cant seem to make my own working backups on my own burner. i can play friends backups on my psx.

when i try to read and make image of the game, my burner cant read sector 0 and aborts strait away. CD - ROm cant read audio and data subchannels (using clonecd here). i do have the latest drivers firmware etc, so i dunno what to do

using nero and cdrwin didnt help either

thanks for the input by the way people!

OK..... Have you got your CDRom and burner on the same IDE channel? or is your CDRom on the same channel as your Hard drive? If its with the hard drive then i would look at changing it to the other channel and leave the hardrive separate.

Stick with CDRWin for the moment and reduce your read and write speeds down to 2x read (data and audio) and 4x write, use you burner for the read and write session because burners usually have stronger lasers.

Create an image on the hard drive first, apply any patch you require and then write to the burner. If the games are old then you may want to give them a clean first with a soft cloth, dont use any chemicals as they may damage the surface of the disc.

With the read session leave all the settings as default but make sure that you check the RAW box.

When you are ready to write then again leave all the settings as default this time including the RAW box (leave it unchecked).

If you get errors during the read session then it would probably be due to a damaged disc and a different original would be the best option to try.

Let me know how you get on.

i have my rom and burner on the secondary IDE, with the burner as master and rom as slave (not sure if it matters which is which)
the hard drive is alone on the primary

i only have the demo version of cdrwin, so been trying to burn at 1 speed and for the sake of it, been reading my games, both data and audio at 1 speed too.

Do the other settings besides "raw" matter much?
i had error recovery on ignore, and jitter correction disabled.

thanks spooky, ill try it soon with cdrwin on default settings and pray that it works!

and has any one tried blindwrite? any comments on that?
