Phillips CDD3610 and Mitsui media

This is really weird. I have a Phillips CDD3610 and have been burning discs fine with Sony media. I recently purchased some Mitsui brand discs, and when I burn using those, it seemingly burns the entire disc (whole audio tracks), but then I find that it only writes empty audio tracks to the disc, which would have only taken several minutes, rather than the burn time of an entire disc. When I use the Sony discs in the same manner, it works fine. Does anyone know what is going on?

The only thing I can think of is the firmware, or a failing mechanism (greese dries up). Some discs also don't like recording at a very low speed like 2x.

Flash to the latest firwmare so you can rule this out. There's always one or two brands that don't work well with certain writers - my traxdata would screw up Samsung discs until I flashed writer's firmware to latest update.

Hope it works out for you.
