backitup is wrong!!! blindread is good for games which only have a few errors! cdrwin will stop sometimes when there is just one tiny little error. it is a different story when games have 1000 errors. as long as there is no more than 10 corrupt sectors on a psx cd, it will work fine.
Sorry but your talking CRAP!

yeaf: explain youself if there are NO errors on a psx game and you get a error (without it being dirt and cleaning it off) and you replace the error you are just putting in something which is NOT suppose to be there so its NOT making a true copy

I just copied Madden NFL 2002 w/ CloneCD 3.0.8.2. I have a modchip that's external which fits in the back of PSX. The copy seems like it worked, I got to the menu to select the team and right before the player was suppose to running on the field the game HANGED. But wait a minute I test the org. PSX Madden NFL 2002 with the modchip plugged in and the same thing happened. Right before the player enter the field the machine HANG. I decided to do the swap method w/o the mode chip, with the org and the backup copy. Sure enough the backup copy worked. I played all night with the backup copy. So it seems that Sony has put in to place a detection program in their org product game. I was reading on the internet about PSX having two type of protection. Some current release games are using software to detect modchips or whether the game has in fact been copied to a CDR disc. It is important to distinguish between the two. IT SEEMS LIKE THEY COMBINED THE TWO TOGETHER TO HAVE ON BIG PROTECTED GAME. Currently there are "MODCHIP DETECTING" games, and "COPY DETECTING" games. With this game it seems like sony is using both protection. Do anyone know if there is any patch or new modchip to fix this problem? Please email me the info or URL, Thanxs

if there was mod protection the boys at cmgsccc would have detected it, I made a back-up copy at top speed, it hung at the same place, I went back and did it again at 1x, I didn't have any problems. I also had a gameshark that would hang games all the time, I would have to switch to my mini-goldfinger which would work with any game. Certain games can have problems with external devices, the fact that your copy worked when you swapped it tells me that your external mod probably was causing the problem not any kind of mod detection.

Do you think I should get a new ModChip?

I had the same problem. It would stop at about 93% and wouldn't go any farther. The original is scratched badly so
I tried just cleaning it with my scotch cd cleaner and it worked.
I'm using clonecd. Good luck

The newer the mod-chip the more protection schemes it will defeat.

what reader and writer are you using for a start ,if its ide then its crap you are far better of with scsi for copying all psx,ps2. What program are you using ,your best bet is discjuggler v2 and clone cd 2.8.3.1 or higher for doing straight copys and use cdrwin for patching. One of the main reasons you might not be able to copy the cd if its not that badly scratched because it maybe a poorly pressed original yes that happens dont forget how many 1000`s of copys are pressed another reason maybe your reader dont like reading bad sectors or scratches..... all you peepz saying that when the burnig prog puts 0 in for sectors that it can`t read the psx won`t play that is the BIGGEST load of rubish. I`ve got over 800 titles a lot with errors and unreadable sectors and guess what they play and copy just great by the way mate get yourself a scsi 40Xplextor(UltraPlex) reader and you`ll have no troube reading the discs any more i havent and ive had mine for 3 years now and ive copied well over 60,000 cds not many coasters either just 2 new writers

First off i have a pioneer dvr ao3 like alot of you along with a 2 year old HP cdrw. Both are ide and i NEVER burn a coaster. Second, Cdrwin was CREATED to copy PSX games so, with the exception of clone cd, nothing is better as far as software goes. Third, NO PSX game has intentional errors, several other members including myself have already stated this. Your game may load but it will FAIL somewhere in gameplay if it has errors so why copy it. Yes, blindread and blindwrite will work, If you want a damaged backup from a DAMAGED game.

Ok mother bitch, ill explain. i posted that so long ago (possibly 6 months or more!!!) and you guys all decide to have a bithcin fit about it. 6 months ago i didn't know much about copying psx games and i thought blindwrite worked better because it never stoped on an error. then i learnt that cdrwin is actually better because it doesnt fill the game with errors and instead retries to read the cd, but of course i never knew this thus causing myself to post something silly. So could you all possibly calm down and get over it because I actually totally agree that blindwrite is not the best psx reading program!

Ps. i now am calling myself "patch god" despite the fact that i use clone cd.

It took my burner a long ass time to read tekken 3 using clone cd, they purposly put bad blocks on the cds so that people have a hellofa time ripping them. Open up the log file while you rip them, the games are probably still ripping, its just taking forever to do it.
