Maybe try downloading the latest version of DJ or get CDI2NRG and burn with Nero.

I've tried converting it to a .nrg and using nero.
but i still get an error saying:-

Invalid field in parameter list, could not start disc-at-once

I've checked the cdi with cd mage and its not comming up with any errors, so i have no idea what going wrong.

Thanks
Alex

Question LBA ?

Maybe it's a "LBA 11700 something" error...

Maybe you should try to remake your CD by your own :
_ extract all files from your image with CD Mage
_ follow Echelon's selfboot tutorial using "11702" as LBA value

There's no reason why it shouldn't work.
Are you sure your burner supports multi session CDs ?

Thanks for the tips,

i've followed the echelon instructions exactly, and i've got further, i now have burnt a cd which when put in a dreamcast brings up the echelon logo, greets etc. then says starting game. but then the screen goes blank and nothing happens.

any ideas whats wrong?
i've tried it a couple of times and i'm pretty sure i'm doing everything as i should, getting LBA values of 11702. etc.

Thanks again!
Alex.

Maybe you have to patch several ".BIN" files.

Try to look for "*.BIN" containing "CD001". If you find such files, you should patch them so that they also start at 11702. It's quite easy to do that :

_ extract all your files in a directory
_ search all files containing "CD001" (usually ".BIN" files located in the game's root)
_ run BINHACK on all the files you found, using 11702 LBA value (just as you've done with 1st_read.bin), including 1st_read.bin
_ follow Echelon's tutorial to finish the process

Then, let me know if it worked

i've heard that some games need a bit of extra tinkering.
But unfortunately this game only has two bin files "1ST_READ" and "CRANK" crank doesn't have any reference to CD001 and only has CD in it once followed by #.
would it be something to do with the media i'm using? they're unbranded, but apperntly 'A' Grade!?!
but i have burnt Jet Grind Radio using them.

Thanks for all the help, any other ideas greatly appreciated

Alex.

Did you also burn CDDAs ?
If the musiks are needed and if you didn't burn them, that should be the reason why it doesn't work.
If you burned them, LBA value isn't 11702 any more.

Did you checked that ?

Confusious :

Usually, ".001", ".002", ".003", ... files are compressed files.
Use Winrar to decompress them.
You should get one file that you should be able to burn then.

If you have the latest version, all you need to do is start it up, open the .001 file, click extract and tell it where you want to put it.

That would be correct. The file you extracted was actually partially contained in ALL of those files. If you tried to extract .002 or .003, it won't find the start of a file and it will give you an error. You should only extract the files from the first file.
