Anyone try then new Xplane playfix patch?

The old playfix for X-Plane 6.10 didnt work so I see there is a new release for it called playfix 2. Trying to get my full version to run without the cd so I can save wear and tear on my drive and original CD. All the new playfix did was cause stuttering in the video and when you hit any menu items you can do anything but QUIT. Something was not quite right about the playfix as it seems to have corrupted X-Plane and I followed the direction to the letter. The MSDOS dialogue box said successfuly patched.

Any help would be great.

Tried doing a fresh install of X-Plane 6.10 but no luck there either. I even took out the trace files found in the WINDOWS folder itself as I wondered how X-Plane knew what airport and plane I last used and then I discovered the trace files. Same problem as the video flickers and the menu items other than QUIT lock up there windows. The patch fix 2 seems to have corrupted the X-Plane full installation.

My system specs:

Athlon 1.33 Geoforce 2 Ultra.

Otherwise if I have my full installation without the patch and the original disk in its okay. Dont want to make a backup copy of my orignal as that defeats the purpose of reducing wear and tear on the DVD drive.

Any help would be great.

I have no trouble with the new patch, however it only removes the cd check to disable the joystick, but the patch does NOT remove the demo area limit. Since I still cannot leave the demo area, I still need the CD to use the program. Can anyone do a good patch? Please???

Ive found that the 2nd fix for X Plane v6.10 is giving me errors even before I get to fly any aircraft

Ive followed the instructions to the letter. and i get an unhandeled exception error then folowed by a windows page fault error.

any fixxes or constructive suggestions drop me a line

I think it was an amateur attempt as the file was only 4kb compared to old files being 20 or so. Guess we wait some more or give up which ever comes first. Hate pulling cd's out if I dont have to.

i realy dont like using a CD that cost me over $200 in local dosh to buy and have delivered into the country (and that is just for the game and not the up and coming next gen scenery).

is any one working on a crack for ver 6.11??

i am keen to have a go at cracking this just not sure where to start as Austin has a weird way of miss leading you with his programming!

the problem is that if you install the no cd crack number one you have to trash the game and reinstall the game and then use the number 2 crack and it will do for the no cd but not for the terrain limit

if you find one that fix this let me know please... take care
