SBox booting instructions

I know this has been asked but maybe someone will still help me. Ok I got the Sbox (aka Neokey). I can boot psx backups fine. However I cant get ps2 backups to load. They just sit there and spin forever. I tried both boot methods. One says to turn on sbox after ps2 log comes on. other one says to press r1 + O when cd is being inserted. Neither works. When I try r1 + O it takes me back to the menu screen. (thats what O does on that particular screen). am i doing something wrong? I dont own any ea games. are there other patches i need to play these games? someone please help
