copying errors

RIGHT THIS IS WHAT I GET
WRITING TO CD FAILED MEDIUM ERROR:WRITE ERROR-RECOVERY NEEDED (3:0x0c: 0x07
Ive just dropped down to 8 speed and it was ok
can anybody tell me what ive got to do so i can start copying at 12 speed again?

What kind of cd writer do you have and what software did you use? Did you try different types of cd-r media?

Sounds like a buffer underrun error. Your computer may not be able to keep up at any speed over 8x. Try removing all background applications during the burn and the usual buffer underrun prevention. 8-)

Have you tried increasing the size of your disk cache? Some cd-r programs allow you to alter this - but don't make it too high!

Also, if you're burning MP3 files to cd-audio (.CDA) you'll need a pretty good pc to be able to burn at 8x speed or above; my Cyrix 333+ can only do this at 4x speed (sob).
