Boot
I know there are probably hundreds of questions asked on this but I am new and don't quite understand.
Are there anything specail about the 8 Pin mod chips (are they programmed differently than manufactured) and secondly, When a chip is fitted, do I need the Action Replay 2 dongle and s/w to bootup cracked ps2 games or is that just for the pre-cracked games? Cheers PiemaN

I don't quite get your question about the 8 pin chip, what do you mean?
you need the AR2 and dongle or a region x (original only) to swap with all chips but the neo 4 and the messiah.

The question was!
The chip that is used for the mod is a PIC12C508. Is anything done with this chip to make it a mod chip for ps2 or simply buy one from a electronic shop and fit it. So even with a CDR backup game which has had a crack installed still needs the AR2 and dongle? Hope this helps Arakon. PiemaN |

yes you still need the ar2 & dongle for ps2 games and the 508 is programmed with the correct code before it was supplied to you
