80 min CD media brands

Just a question... I have heard conflicting reports about the reliability of no-name brand 74 min discs. I've heard on boards that they are junk and should be avoided, but a friend uses them with no troubles. Possibly they will deteriorate in a short period of time? Anyway, I'm guessing this is much more of an issue with 80 minute discs. Personally I am seeing less of a reason to buy the 74 mins so my next spindle I buy will probably be 80 mins. Doing some price research I saw that noname spindles of like 100 80 min discs can be as low as $20! So something must be up with this.. The lowest brand media I could find was Leda 80 mins a pack of 100 for $20.90.. Who knows about shipping though.. Anyway that's a very good price! My question that i'm getting to is should I worry about the brand on the 80 min discs (currently I have some Imation.. no trouble but they haven't been around for long so I don't know if they will break down)? Is Leda a decent brand? The data on the particular Leda disc that I was looking at is:
Substrate Polycarbonate Writing Layer Cyanine Dye Reflective Layer Au (Gold) or Ag (Silver) Protection Layer Acry Laq
And finally (slightly different topic..), when I was looking at types of CD media on the net, I noticed that many of them are called "silvers". Are these lower or higher quality discs?
