Which is the better ps2..??

Which would be a better choice for getting a ps2. A pal ps2 or ntsc ps2. I mean after modding which ps2 would be compatible the most with the import backups and ps1 import backups.?

Yo basically if you are going for the Messiah,

A PAL set will be most obvious choice, given the fact that once Messiah is installed, you are able to play all imported games. If you are to get the NSTC, installing messiah is going to be some problem.

Messiah is bascially the no swap mod, Thus the best there is right now. Contact Charlie or Dust for one.

if you can get yourself a pal one you can buy a special video cable to play ntsc games with no problem. Otherwise the games will be in black and white

Pardon my ignorance guys,

But ain't most of the new tvs are multi systems ie NSTC/PAL

and cabpable of both format? why is it that you can only get black and white display

most newer PAL tvs can display NTSC too. however, almost no NTSC tv can display PAL, or has a RGB connection.

if you are in USA, you'll need a multiformat TV and a power converter to be able to use the PAL machine.
I'd recommend you look for an US v4 if you are in usa, and mod it with messiah.
if you are in europe, a PAL machine will be fine.
