Sorry, I know this issue's been visited a number of times already, in both the message board and the FAQ. I just need to cover something not already touched upon.
The FAQ says, in its instructions for creating such a disc, to: "Extract the contents of the ISO using ISO Buster into a directory with the cdrecord-tools." I've got ISOBuster, but I'm not quite sure how EXACTLY to go about extracting the files. I can open the ISO, but where to go from there I'm not quite sure. I think this is where I'm going wrong, because when it comes to using bin2boot on the BOOTCD.ISO, it tells me that I don't have IP.BIN. Or something along those lines, I can't quite remember. I guess that's because I'm not using ISOBuster properly, since that's the only part of the instructions I'm not quite sure on. In fact, just for clarity - the FAQ asked me to get the *.CDI file for the Utopia BootCD, I got the Discjuggler version from the utilities section. Is that alright? The FAQ also mentions on the last line of that section that: "...you can download the *.CDI image bin2boot made here." The link for it is dead, though. Does anyone actually have a copy of that modified image ready to burn? It'd save you giving me instructions on how to do it myself. Thanks. -Scott- |

OK, thanks. That version of Bin2boot enabled me to write an IP.BIN for the *.cdi image. Seems I still did something wrong at some point, though. The disc didn't work.
No worries, though - a friends really old boot disc worked on it. Really strange, considering that the disc's at least a couple of years old, and that workaround for anti-piracy DC's wasn't required until Nov 2000. So I've copied that and all is now fine. Thanks anyway! -SD- |
