New games unbootable
I have started to notice a disturbing trend of late, namely, new games that I have purchased over the last 12 months will not work unless I install a No cd patch, this has included everything from Ghost Recon to my latest purchase MOHAA, as you can imagine this is a right pain.
I would appreciate anybodys insight into the matter

Do you mean that when the splash screen comes up it bombs out etc? If so, then you may have old versions of PlayBackup, Insektors or Daemon Tools on your system. The newer versions of SD2 have blacklisted these programs and won't let you play the game (even originals) if these are found on your system
Use the uninstallers with these programs to get rid of them and try again. If you use these programs on a regular basis, I recommend using Daemon Tools as long as you update it regularly to avoid the blacklisting.
