C&C Renegade Backup Copy

Hey does ne one know if any light has been shed on this new Safedisk 2 and if now we can make a 100% copy of the Original C&C Renegade Discs. I tried to use ClonyXll and CloneCD. I wrote the Cd as an Image File. After an hour and 20 minutes it was at 1% so i just stopped it. How long should that take. If I can make a Cd to cd copy at 1X that would surely mess up. Ne one got anything new more suggestions.

when i backed it up it took 1hour at 1x

so what is your burner

it took me 20 mins to get both cd's backup and working but them im lucky i havent had much trouble backing up with my liteon 24x

Mmmm intersting it took me about 20 mins to copy both CD's with my Plextor 24x, but for the life of me I can't get the game to run, keeps asking for the origonal CD......

What's the secret then war3zuk, you seem to have managed it.

install the game apply the crack from here

then make a folder inside the data folder of the game called movies and copy all the .bik files from cd2 then it will work

@orion - you don't need to use the crack at the site above. Instructions for SD2.51.021 with Plex 24X. Follow carefully:

1) Read game to image file from the Plex at no more than 4X. Tick Fast Error Skip only

2) Download the new modified Betablocker (specially for SD2.51) and patch the image file with it

3) Burn the image file back to CD-R at no more than 6X. Tick Burn-proof and Always Close Last Session only.

4) Enable Hide CD-R media in Clone CD Tray if trying to play from a writer.

HI ok tried the clone CD image, then downloaded the latest SD2.51 (Safedisk betablocker), can someone please explain what's ment to happen after this point...........

I drag the image file of the CD into window for the safedisk 2.51, now there is two buttons, "search Image" & "Patch Image" click on the search image button, it starts running a counter from 0 - 1000 sectors ??. I then click on Patch Image - nothing happens.

Thinking that it was patched I burnt the CD image back to disk and tried it out, still the same, keeps asking for the origonal CD.

What should be happening within this safedisc window, surely if the image file was patched it would tell me ??

Still looking for answers., so if anyone can shed some light on this I would be most gratefull.

is the cd ur copying the origionals cos if they aint it wont work betablocker searches for weak sectors

After it checks for the sectors 1-1000, it should show you a list of the weak sectors than it found. When you click on patch, (this happens very quickly) the program then changes from found the sectors to fixed them. It doesn't make any sound or pop up a box to tell you it's finished - that's just it.

Secondly, did you enable Hide CD- R Media - and did you stick to the 4X and 6X? And what firmware are you using?

Mmm yeah done all that you said, stuck to 4x on write & burn, Ticked Burn-proof and Always Close Last Session only.
Enabled Hide CD-R media in Clone CD Tray. However I don't have the origonal CD's just a copy of the cd's - does this make a difference??

Don't know what you mean by Firmware?? but anyway

Clone CD version 2.7.8.1
Safedisc Betablocker, Beta2Sd2_251_English
Plextor 24x10x40A CD-Writer

Anything else I should have ??

1) Update Clone CD
2) Saying you haven't heard of firmware - chances are you haven't updated it. v1.02 and v1.03 will enable the Plex to copy SD2 with no problems (except SD2.51). Look for firmware 1.03 here!

Hi again, just checked Clone CD out and its version 2.7.8.1 ??

Anyway got a shot of the origonal and continued as per your instructions, I'm amazed, it worked - thanks.

Just one more thing, the game is two CD's, when installing it, it only installed from the first CD, should this be correct ?? also after Cloning the origonal and patching it with Safedisc, is it possible to copy the cloned CD's - would they work ??

if its a good copy you should be able to copy again

P.S. the samsungSw216B doesnt copy them good only playable in the writer(punches self)

Im having trouble just installing the damn thing, i only have a burner as my cd drive. When i go to install the setup program does not recognise that there is a cd in the drive. Can someone please help.
