Just installed a type 5 board on a type R console with huge success, dead easy mod.
![]() I have been able to boot nearly all of the (silver bottomed) games I picked up in Indonesia a few months ago... my problem is when it comes to backing up games myself I use a Mac G4 and have had huge success burning PS1 games in the past, ripping under Astarte copy 203, patching with PPF Patcher and burning with Toast 5 Titanium.. I have tried to copy a couple of PS2 games in the same way but cant get them to boot... Does the colour of the cd-r disk im burning onto Really matter???????.. megagames say's that they only use (blue ) for PS1 but Ive had no problems with using any colour.... I have been using (Gold ) cd-rs so far for my PS2 stuff though .... any Mac users Burning DVD-R games??? Dvd Extractor will rip them to the hard disk... what do we need to put them to DVD-R ???? Toast and a Superdrive is it really that easy??? Regards Elkay, Australia elkayps2**********com |

"Type 5 board", Apple MAC - way out man.
The PC world has this cracked with CloneCD which makes 1:1 copies of protected games. You need to be able to burn RAW - DAO + 96 (the sub-channel data) in order to be able to play such games unless you have found the protection fixes to patch in. Hopefully you'll find the one in a milllion who has a Mac and who has cracked it.
