*.cdi to CloneCD (Mitsumi 4801TE)
I did a search for this in the forum but did not get an answer to what i was looking for !!
Now, for starters i am one of the fools who is unlucky to be stuck with the mitsumi 4801TE cdr burner, which has great difficulties buring DC games. Up untill today i have had NO success and had basically given up. However, i was searching the forums and found someone who has made a bunch of successful burns with this exact burner using the burning program CloneCD. So i d/l'ed the cloneCD image of the Utopia bootcd and a copy of the cloneCD burning program and burnt it. sure enough, the fucker worked !! ![]() Lets just say i was kinda happy. Since then, i have hunted down the release which has the sega genesis emulator and 53 roms for the DC. One little problem however . . . .it is a *.cdi (discjuggler) image (as all DC releases are). Now since my burner is in-compatiable with discjuggler i want to convert it to a cloneCd image (which worked earlier today when i burnt the bootcd). I've tried the cdr2nero and that shit never worked for me. So my question is, is there a program that converts a discjuggler (*.cdi) image into CloneCD images, or is there any process that i can do (that imvolves a few steps, for example changing it to an iso then to a cloneCd image, or such) to convert it from one to the other ? jiggykies |

Well if i can't convert it, then how do i burn it ??
I can't use discjuggler cause my burner cannot burn anything less then 300 sectors (it burns the first session of a DC game fine, but errors up right befor burning the 2nd session). I did a search for "mitsumi" on this forum and read all of the posts, but no one has given a clear-cut answer on how to successfully burn DC games with the Mistumi burner model: 4801TE. I can't use discjuggler to burn it, so is there anything i can do to the file itself that will make it burnable with my burner ? jiggykies |

. . . . . or i can keep it and work around the problem by not giving up !!
![]() I'm thinking i'm going to have to convert games from selfbooting to non-selfbooting. How is this done. I used this guide from: http://dcxeal.virtualave.net/dgnonboot.html this is a basic tutorial on how to make a selfboot game into a non-selfboot game. I'm using this because it states: "Unfortunatly, there are some CDR drives that just refuse to burn the Self boot games (no matter what you try)..... Namely my Mitsumi CR-4801TE" which ironically enought is MY BURNER !!! So i tried using this guide step-by-step to turn the d/l of Sheumue 2 into a non-selfboot game; however, i ran into a few problems. the first one being when i tried to convert the *.cdi file into an *.iso, i got 2 iso files and no waves (the guide says to delete the waves, but i never got any) My second problem was working with the 1st_read.bin file. The guide is a step by step for games that have a LBA of 11700 or 11702. The game i have has a LBA of 45000 ?!?! So I downloaded the program "Hex Workshop 3.11" (like it said to in the guide) so i could change the 1st_read.bin file so it would be non-selfbooting. Now when i went into the program the guide says i have to so a search for: "CD001" when i have the .bin file loaded in the program. I did this and nothing happened (note: i was only working on the 2nd iso file, the 670meg one, and never touched the 60meg smaller iso file). So i tried buring the 2nd iso file, without fucking around the 1st_read.bin file and booted it up after swaping it with the bootdisc. the system loads the game 98% of the way and freezes. can someone PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help me out and fix my problem. the HEX program wasn't giving me a resualt after i searched for "Cd001". How do I, or what do i have to change in the 1st_read.bin file with a LBA of 45000 to make it non-selfbooting. Please, this last 2% is killing me !!! jiggyleon |

well what can i tell u...?? dont waste any time on that writer if it cant handle cdi files...most of the latest writer are so cheap now if you dont mind to buy another one that can work happily.
I have some trials to make selfboot games to non-boot ones, but I can tell you I've tried shenmue2 n its not gonna to boot into the game. it keep restart itself in the startup screen... also the cdirip software have its limitation too, if it has more audio track then you have no way to make it non-boot by this method.... so give it up mate, a cdwriter is so cheap now why bother with those shitty problem. |
