The Sims-3% after 50 min.

I'm trying to copy The Sims for my son's computer. I've got the LiteOn 241012b and am using clonecd v3.3.4.1. Clony reports the protection as Safedisc alt, whatever that is. I tried the Clony settings and am about where I am now. I've never had any problems copying anything before, including SD2 games. I've been playing around with the settings in clonecd but have been achieving the same result - it's awfully slow. I've already researched this game and my problem with little success. Should I just leave it imaging and hope it takes off after 5% or is this excessive? Does anyone know what clonecd settings I can use to copy this game?

If you are talking about the orig. Sims game it is sd2 I think, but not the new sd2.51.
What writer are you using?
I have copied this game with a HP 8200, 9100, plex 24x, liteon 24x.
Depends on the speed of the writer, but yes it can take awile for the first 5 to 10 pct.
Use clonyxl and then load to clonecd from there and let it do its job.
KC........

Im sorry you did say it was a lite-on 24x.
I think it took me about 10 min. to copy this disk at 16x because 16x media was all I had. I still have not bought any 24x media yet...lol.
Like I said above use clonyxl then load clonecd from there and copy away.
Another thought: what type of media are you using, and what reader are you using?

Sorry, I should have been more specific. I'm trying to image the cd using clonecd. It's the original sims.

K, I let it go for an hour and 5 min then it took off and completed the image. I burned it and the copy works fine. I'm just a little dismayed at the length of time it took. Thanks for your help.

That is a long time, are your speeds set at max?
I copied MOHAA from reader to writer in 28 min. at 16x with the sd2.51: 14 min. for the image and 14 min. for the write.
I have the same writer as you do, now the HP 9100 is a 8x write and the time to make the image was long like you described.

that is weird that the liteon works funny like that. i thought reading it raw would do fine. o well though.
