well 8 gb will either have to be spread over 2 dvd's or reencoded to fit onto one, and when you do that you lose 5.1 info ( it's usally down mixed to 2 channel stereo ). I managed to back up HEAT, 6b worth onto one 4.7 gb, took me a lot longer to figure out the setting ect.. for enc####g, playback is not too bad at all, but it at 352x480 and not 720x480 as it fits at lower resolution and have no ill effect on motion. Total burn time on DVD-RW was 1 hour. Total final encode time was 5 hours on a P4 2 ghz ( and that not including the 4 attempts before at varying bitrates ect before I got it down nor the vob creation time via Spruce Up ). As they say YMMV.
