I am new to this, so forgive me.
When reading Mohaa, I get alot (576) bad sectors. The game works fine from the cd so I figure maybe this is protection related. Am I wrong? Also I have ClonyXXL when i try to launch it I get "a device connected to the system is not functioning" error...any ideas? Thank you kindly for any help. |

Well, thank you for being so kind in your replies.
As I said I am new to this, forgive my ignorance. I am attempting to make a image of MOHAA, as I continually get i/o errors when trying to install. This happened in t2 as well and after making an image i was able to install with no errors. It works once I get it installed, even with the i/o erros but i am trying to make sure I have a working copy. I am hoping this would help. Not sure how if its an i/o error that making an image would work, but it did. I tried the 'shiny search button', what exactly shpuld I search for. I tried "mohaa bad sectors" "bad sectors" and "error reading discs" all returned no results. Again thank you for your kindness, and the warm welcome to the forums! I have a lite-on cd-r 12101b and a toshiba dvdrom sdm1202. Amd tbird 1.3 512kddr radeon8500 gametheaterXP sound by hercules In general I have recieved i/o errors in the past and was told this may be because i have the 2 hd's and the 2cdroms on the same ide channel..i have tried staggering them to no avail. The problem with bad sectors during a read may be the same thing that is causing the i/o errors. When I thought I might have a bad ide controller I found that many people were having the same problem with the same file in Tribes2 "audio.vl2", and that alot of ppl were getting bad sector messages while trying to backup MOHAA. So...I am trying to get some suggestions. I have swapped the 2 ram chips, removed one then the other to make sure it wasnt bad ram. I have set dma on and off for cd-roms and Hd's I have turned off read-ahead optimization. I have updated all drivers for every piece of hardware i own. I have downclocked (I never overclock) I have made sure the ram speed is correct in BIOS. I hope this is detailed enough, please forgive me as I am having a better english speaking friend (thats me! :P) type this as I explain what I am trying to say. Thank you again.
