Some Backup Issues With No-Solder R-Mod

Me again. I've kinda noticed something odd with my R-Mod that I'm hoping somebody can help with.

I have a few DVD backups that just refuse to work. They either boot and then crash or just hang upon bootup. What's odd is that some are EA titles (SSX Tricky, 007), however I can backup and play EA CD titles (Madden, FIFA) with no patches or problems.

What I'm wondering is: is this a known issue or do I have to do some 'super secret' boot method for these? I've been using NightStalkers excellent boot method with a GS2.x, so if you happen to know I'd greatly appreciate.

Thanks much in advance
Tril

Does the original dvd game used in the swap have a higher TOC than the backup you are trying to load??

Yep. I'm using the largest known: the DMC demo. Funny thing is, even DMC backup works fine (played it for like 3hrs earlier today without any issues). The problem children appear to be:

007 (locks on bootup)
SSX Tricky (same)
Fantavision (ditto)
Baldur's Gate (locks after you pick a char and start a game)
Twisted Metal Black (locks after you go into the game)

As you can see, a wide assortment of publishers. What makes it even odder is that all of my backups were created the same way (Pioneer A03 fw1.68, Prassi 2.0, Apple/Memorex media), but for some reason only these appear to be experiencing issues.

Still stumped

PS-- as always, thanks Night.

A member in another forum suggest you may not be leaving the original dvd game in the console long enough to get a complete read, Try leaving it for about 30 sec. I dont know if it will work or if its even the problem, just thought i would pass on the info. Good luck.

007 DVDR works fine with my R MOD., using Nightstalker's
boot method and GS 2.1 and DMC Demo.

Thanks again NightStalker. It appears that I wasn't letting the DVD sit in the player long enough. However, still can't get Fantavision or Twisted Metal Black backups to work right. Fantavision continues to lock on bootup and TMB still crashes about a minute in. Oh well.

Thanks for the help.
Tril
