Question force to run 60Hz for vga?

hi everyone,

Im new to this board and would like to ask if anyone know or success to enable vga support with these following dc games.

(all selfboot)

Hydro thunder (Kalisto)
plasma sword
MTV skateboarding
The ring US
Sky of arcadia US
King of fighter 99
soul fighter
(the last blade)--> havent try yet

I bet all these games run in 50hz or so, and this may be one of the reason that i m not success to enable the vga support for them.

if anyone good in hexediting im pretty appreciate if u can tell me how to change the 50Hz and force them run in 60Hz!!

hi

i have exactly the same problem, but :

- last blade 2 is not vga compatible (i tried the hexedit trick but it didn't work )

-skies of arcadia : you probably have the echelon release and it is PAL but patched to run in 60 Hz...but it still doesn't work with the vga box

if anyone knows what to do...

thx

hi albatorxxx! thz for ur reply. yes actually those are the games that i have no idea how to enable them to support vga, even i hexedit them...so far.

especially for hydro thunder, even i've a few trials to patch it from pal to ntsc using some kits , i still no luck to c the video in vga mode.

mine copy of SOA is the ECHELON release, n check from net it state that its Origin...: " EUROPE - NTSC "?!?!

i have no idea since europe should be in pal format...that confuse me much.

if u read from them u probably found some special issue about this game... "We compressed all of the game data on this game, and coded an on-the-fly decompressor to be run whenever data is read from the CD."

just wondering do this made some change for the vga support of the game, since the original US version of the game do support vga...

hi

the echelon release of SoA is european (PAL) patched to display in 60Hz, that's probably why they say "euro/NTSC" (i read that from the .nfo)
...i tried it today on a TV and it runs in 60Hz, so i don't know where this problem comes from with vga...the only thing is that the euro SoA doesn't seem to be vga compatible, so...

tell me if you learn something...
