MOHAA ... Desperately need help

Hi all,

Can someone please tell me whatI am doing wrong.

I have Lite-on 24x10x40 CDRW and XP Pro, have tried Clone CD and Blindwrite Suite and no way will they write MOHAA to CD correctly.

Clone CD will give me a good image as Daemon will run with no problems.

I always get a 'insert CD into drive' message when using a backup.

No matter what settings I use they will not play game (install yes but play no) ... unless I use the No CD patch then no probs.

If I insert original CD (yes, I do have the original) then game will play but with a backup no way (so far 8 coasters)

Someone mentioned about using 'Hide CD-R Media' in Clone CD ... cannot find it (ver 3.3.2.1)

Any help appreciated

Lightbulb mohaa

hi.
i have the same liteon cdrw and have copied the game perfectly and play the backup no problem, without any extra help from demon tools.
the problemis in the writing process not the reading,
the game is sd2,but dont copy with the setting that xl sets for you,
read in 4 speed
fes default settings
nothing else set
then write in 4/6 speed only.
with only close cd on
you should have no problems then and no more coasters too!!!!!!!!!

the other thing is with later version of clone you have clone cdtray in there turn on hide cdrw this will also help but a must.

xl gives right settings, minus the read speed. just do everything RAW and go slow.

Hi all,

Thanks everyone for your help.

The CloneCD tray was not in sight so checked MSConfig and found it had been turned off which was why there was no icon in tray.

Now the icon is there and set the 'hide cdrw' I now have no coasters they all work perfectly .... well I suppose I still really do have coasters as I only need the one set of backups the others no use to me at all, ah well never mind ... all down to lack of experience.

Thanks again everyone for your help.

@thedrawback. i thought you could burn at full speed? other people have done it. have you tried it? did it not work....

@sillybilly, do you just type msconfig in the run box to edit stuff?

Packer - Probably possible but not recommended to write at full speed -- run risk of coasters with this protection.

I have XP so goto 'Start' then select run and type 'msconfig' (minus the quotes) in the box

You will then get a box appear with all progs running and other info (win.ini, config.sys tabs etc) just select what progs to disable or enable ... be careful though in case you disable something Windows or another prog needs

If you don't know what you are doing then might be best left alone (I accept no responsibility if anything goes wrong)

Can't remember about other Win OS but probably much the same as above.

Once again everyone thanks for your help

Max speed is no problem for the Lite-On with the protection - other writers such as Plex have to go slllllloooowww.

I think most of the Windows have msconfig - it's been around for as long as I can remember. Comes in very handy sometimes.
