Can I back-up a DVD onto a regular CD-R?????

I have heard that you can back up a DVD onto a 700mb CD-R. Is this true? If so how do I do it? If not what are they talking about? Please e-mail me and let me know. [email protected]

If you have heard that somewhere I suggest you ask from who you heard it from.
It is of course crap, a DVD can be 5.2 gig in size.
You do not need any more than a half working brain cell to know that it is impossible.

You are absolutely right a DVD can be backed up onto a single CDR but only using mpeg 4 compression(DivX) the plus side is yes you get the film on a normal disc however you are limited to playability as this particular format can only be played back on your P.C with DivX compatible software
