mohaa copying

okay, first of all, hello guys, and thanks to then admins for doing a great job in this forum. (okay thatas enough ass kissing) lol

ive been trying to make a backup copy of mohaa, and i must say its bloody hard! and its the first game to actually (almost) defeat me, but im not giving up!!

Ive been using clone CD to make an image file of disk 1 and of disk 2, and i have the images sitting right on my desktop, i have used playbacks safe disk 2 image file patcher and it said it was a success, but i cannot write the iimage file to disk because (obviosly) the image file is too large (735mb) do i need to 'wrap' this up with something??......if so what tool will i need?.......

please, this is a quite geniune question, and if it seems obvious to someone, please dont take the P, i am quite new to this, ive viewed all the mohaa posts, but to no avail.
thanks.

Don't use Playbackup, use Daemon Tools if you want a good emulator. What burner do you have as you may be able to make a perfect - or almost perfect copy - using other things such as Betablocker

Have you tried burning the image file - it is normal for the image file to be more than 700Mb due to the stuff Clone CD adds to it. It should burn OK onto an 80min disk.

Thanks for the reply, im using an LG GCE-8160B burner.
i have tried to burn the image file onto a cd, but only with a 74min r/rw..................i thought only 80 min CDs only help 700mb, the image file is 735mb, am i able to overburn an extra 35mb?? if so, which cd's are the best for doing so?....

Ive tried to use betablocker, but to no avail, so some information on how to use that, would be really appreciated.
Thanks for your time.

It is normal for the image size to be more than normal due to the stuff CCD adds to it - it'll burn to the correct size when burnt.

Make sure you have the newest version of Betablocker - there's a special modified version specially for SD2.51.021

And one last thing - this new SD2 version is causing problems, read to the image file at no more than 4X, and also a slow write helped me as well - even when using Betablocker. I dunno if your burner will let you copy Safedisk 2. If it doesn't you can always get a crack at GameCopyWorld.

Thumbs up sure way to copy MOHAA

I have looked over some of the different ways people are suggesting to copy this game and im sure it may of worked for them.
but the easiest way i think is to use clone cd and use these settings.
When you start it up click on read to image file then make sure that the only box ticked is the one that says fast error skip.
Then click the fast error skip settings and make sure the read retries is set at 3 and the error correction at none.
then you shall have a perfect working copy but you will need to get the no-cd crack for it.
With safe disc2 i havent yet been able to run any of my games from the copied cd.
i hope this helps a lot of you,(Good Luck)
Any replys to if this helped would be great.

Thanks for the reply, i'll try this way out, i think ive tried it this way before, but still couldnt get it to work, the first disk (on medal of honour) isnt any problem, i can get that to install, well at least i can get it to ask me for the second cd, but then all it says is the pathname isnt correct, so it obviously isnt reading it.

ive even tried to install the copied 1st disk, then when it asks me for the 2nd disk, ive put in the origanal CD and that still doesnt work, so this suggests to me that something on the first CD didnt copy correctly in the first place.

Itll be interesting to see what other people think about this.

MOHAA CD COPY

First of all, I was able to burn both CD's of MOHAA by the drag and drop method. I was able to properly install both of them, but Disk #1 (The play disk) won't read as the play disk. I insert the disk, click play, and it says: "Please insert the correct CD-ROM, select OK and restart application. I can't figure out why the CD will install correctly, but not run the game.

Hello, copy protection!! ...

Most games let you do this in view that you have just gone through the install process, but now you can't play the game which is what you want to do ... I have no idea why he used the Drag & Drop method, probably copied the contents of the mohaa cds over to hard drive then used a program like WinOnCD, Nero, EzyCD Creator to burn the files back to CD ...

Best thing is to try a few different settings, the new version of BetaBlocker might not actually help you. The new version of SDV2, 2.51, is being a bitch, where as the previous version, 2.40, BB work prefectly or use AWS in CloneCD.

Hope this helps ...

You are correct in saying that these are the settings to use for copying Safedisk 2 games - but not all writers are able to do this. Also with this new SD2.51.021 many people with writers that could previously copy SD2 have found that they couldn't copy this new one. One solution is a slow read, patch with the new modified Betablocker, then a slow write. I have tried it with a fast read and a fast write and it doesn't work (Plex 24).

One more thing

A perfect copy is one that is perfect would you believe! (with possible exception of ATIP as it's impossible to clone) It does not require a crack. Crack=not perfect.

Now funkyphantom - try what I just suggested: A slow read (4x), patch using modified BB, then a slow write (4X). And it may work - BB doesn't help all writers.
