Booting DVDr with ar 1.6 +neo 2.5
Hi guys (especially Charlie)
Is there any way i can boot DVDrs with a 1.6 on a neo 2.5 chipped pal console? i have doa2 hardcore original for the TOC

Hi sorry for the delay - had trouble getting back onto the forum.
I've advised people that the AR2/1.7 & 1.9 bnackup will boot behind AR2/1.x with the dongle in. I know that works but not with all old versions. The difficulty that I haven't tested is the holding down of reset from the first boot of AR2/1.6 through to the point when you release it for the published DVD-R boot method (after using the swapped in AR2/1.9). If that works then DVD-Rs will boot. If not, then dump the Neo2.5 for the Origachip which does everything. DVD-Rs are a one step boot with DVD Region X, AR2 (any) or Memory Manager 16 plus it boots import originals.

i didnt quite get what u meant by "boot behind" :| .. could you please explain
and my neo 2.5 has this mode selecter where i press eject to select the type of cd such as original,dvdr,cd backup etc.. how would the reset work in this case.. tnx in advance..u rule charlie

The 'published' DVD-R boot method for NEO2.5 is: 1 Power on the PS2 & press EJECT 2 Insert the GS2/AR2 CD 1 3 Power off the PS2 for 5 seconds 4 Turn on the machine by holding the RESET button until the green light on the RESET button and the blue light on the eject button begin flashing - release RESET button 5 After 25 seconds the disc tray will automatically open and you must swap the GS2/AR2 disc with an original DVD-ROM based PS2 game which has a larger TOC (table of contents) than that of your DVD-R copy (click here for a TOC size database) - you have 5 seconds to perform the disc swap before the disc tray automatically closes 6 Once the disc tray closes the RESET button light will become red and joypad operation will be interrupted for 5 seconds at which time the RESET button light will begin flashing green. 7 Select START GAME 8 Select WITHOUT CODES - the disc tray will automatically open Swap the original DVD-ROM based game with your DVD-R backup copy - you have 5 seconds to perform the disc swap before the disc tray automatically closes 9 Press X to begin loading the game Hope all this helps
