copying from cassette to cd?????

Does anyone know how you copy a cassette tape to a cd??? I am using Nero copying software, and I would like to know if it is possible to use this?
I understand that it can be done with Easy cd creator, but I dont really want to have to buy any new software.

not sure if easy CD creator can do it (even through i got it) but i've done it through a sound editing software.

hook your cassette player to the LINE IN on your sound card, and then record it through a sound editing sofware. then save it to your hard drive.

just use yor nero to burn it to a CD.

hope this helps

windows 'Sound Recorder' will let you record it, but you won't be able to edit it, free with windows.

i'm not sure what softwares are good, but i personaly use 'cool edit pro'.

Recording cassette to CD

Yes, Cool edit Pro does work, also Sound Forge by sonic foundry does.
Although I have an out board Guillemot Console with line in and line out and midi sockets.
But I have not tried the line in socket on the PC with the above software.

Line in works fine

I have used the line in for recording from cassette and DAT. I also use Sound Forge to do any triming of the file or cleaning up of the sound. If you do not have Sound Forge, don't want to spend the money on it or cannot locate it, then Cool Edit Pro is the way to go. You can get a shareware copy of it from TUCOWS (http://www.tucows.com/mmedia/preview/193466.html)
