I just recieved this baby. Have not installed it because I would have install the Roxio basic software. I have the Easy CD creator 5.0 platnimum and I don't want to install the basic one. Anyone have a work around for this. I have not installed the new burner because what's the use in installing when you cannot use it. TIA.

I've got a Plextor drive and have been using for three weeks now (its the 24/10/40) ok so its a little slower, but my point I haven't installed any drivers for it at all.
I've backup'd several games etc so far without probs. I presume the Roxio basic software contains and earlier version of Easy CD? If so and you install that and you have an new version it will probably ask if you either want to update the old one or it will tell you to remove it (or do it for you) before it installs the new version |

Packer's right, you can just plug it in and windows'll do the rest. you can continue to use the existing writing software you have.
You should install the damn thing! Its GREAT - I have one too!
